Florence + The Machine optreden en 4 nominaties op de VMA

Florence + The Machine zal optreden met het nummer Dog Days Are Over op MTV’s Video Music Awards dat op zondag 12 september in Los Angeles wordt gehouden. Met deze video is Florence genomineerd voor 4 awards: Video Of The Year, Best Rock Video, Best Cinematography en Best Art Direction.
“For this song to be recognized at such an iconic event is a total dream”, zegt ze in USA Today. “For me ‘Dog days’ symbolizes apocalyptic euphoria, chaotic freedom and running really really fast with your eyes closed. I hope to somehow encapsulate those things in my performance at this years VMA’s”. Dat wordt een wervelend optreden!

Het debuutalbum van Florence + The Machine ‘Lungs’, dat in 2009 is uitgebracht, werd jubelend verwelkomd. In Engeland is de nr 1 positie bereikt en heeft het album meer dan 5 maanden in de album charts gestaan, ook heeft ze de Brit Awards Critic’s Choice ontvangen. In Nederland heeft Florence al veel shows gegeven, hoogtepunten waren de festivals Lowlands 2009 en Pinkpop 2010.
